Quiz and Curry Night in the Museum (Dec 7th) - a few late tickets available

5 Dec 2016 | Cricket
A small number of tickets are now available for the Quiz and Curry Night starting at 7.30pm on Wednesday December 7th, in the CC4 Museum of Welsh Cricket at The SSE SWALEC.

The event had been sold out at the weekend, but a couple of teams who had originally entered are now unable to attend owing to illness. Therefore, a small number of tickets are now available for the Quiz and Curry Evening on Wednesday and if you would like to attend please contact Reception in the Discover Leeks Pavilion during normal office hours on Tuesday or send an email to museum@glamorgancricket.co.uk

For those attending on Wednesday evening, please note that the doors of the Museum will be open from 7.00pm, with food and drink available from 7.30pm. The quiz itself will start shortly after 8pm, and once again, a series of special prizes will be available for the winning team as well as their individual member who wins the head-to-head play-off.

Tickets are also now on sale for the other talks taking place in the Museum after Christmas, starting on Wednesday, January 18th at 7.30pm when an illustrated talk will be given by Dr. Andrew Hignell celebrating the 50th anniversary of county cricket at Sophia Gardens in 2017, following the move from Cardiff Arms Park where Glamorgan staged first-class cricket between 1921and 1966. The evening will also include some previously unseen film footage of cricket at the Arms Park.

Wednesday, February 15th will see “An Evening with Mike Llewellyn” with the former Glamorgan batsman being the guest as part of the 40th anniversary celebrations of 1977 and the year when Glamorgan reached the Gillette Cup Final at Lord’s for the first-ever time. The evening will feature some film footage of the game against Middlesex at Lord’s when the hard-hitting batsman nearly struck a ball over the pavilion at the historic ground in St. John’s Wood.

In March (date to be confirmed) the Museum will also be the venue for “An Evening with Aneurin Donald” when the young batsman will look back on his record-breaking summer in 2016 as well as reflecting on his winter in Australia and the challenges ahead in 2017.

Each of these talks will be £3 in advance for current Glamorgan members or £4 on the door on the night. For non-members, it’s £4 in advance or £5 on the door (Price includes complimentary tea and coffee).
