The SSE SWALEC hosts the biggest music festival in Cardiff this summer

The summer The SSE Swalec is being transformed into Cardiff’s go-to music hub as it welcomes some of Britain best-loved pop legends.

On Saturday 16 July and Sunday 17 July, the historic cricket ground will be hosting the exciting 'On the Pitch' weekender.  Two days packed full of live entertainment from some of the biggest names in the UK music industry.

The venue may be best known for staging big cricket matches, but this summer we will see the 16,000 seater stadium come alive with the help of musical legends like the Kaiser Chiefs and Simply Red.

Kicking off the festival vibes will be the Kaiser Chiefs on Saturday July 16th, the popular indie rock group who climbed the UK music charts with hits such as 'Ruby' and 'Oh My God'. Joining them will be Britain’s biggest name in hip-hop Dizzee Rascal and indie rockers Everything Everything.

If that isn’t exciting enough, the next day will offer equally star-studded performances from Simply Red, Ben Montague and Nathan Ball.

The two-day event is the first of its kind in the stadium and promises to bring a fresh festival-buzz to the Welsh capital. This unique opportunity will let music-lovers watch their favourite acts perform in the beautiful Sophia Gardens, Cardiff’s most scenic parkland.

What better way to kick-off the summer than by partying hard with some of the biggest names in music, right in the heart of Cardiff?
