Croft Names 12-Man Glamorgan Squad

14 May 2016 | Matches
Robert Croft has announced a 12-man squad for the trip to Bristol for their fifth round of action in the Specsavers County Championship against Gloucestershire, with Nick Selman the only absentee from the last match.
Gloucestershire have drawn their last three matches and face a Glamorgan side at the Brightside Ground also looking for their first win of the season.

The squad confirmed for duty on Sunday is the same as that announced for the rain affected clash against Worcestershire in Cardiff last time out.

Nick Selman was a late call-up then, but is omitted this week as the Welsh county considers their bowling options for the short trip across the Severn Bridge.

“Gloucestershire are a good side," said Head Coach Croft, "I think for a long time they’ve used that ‘underdog’ tag very well but that’s gone now, people know Gloucester are a good team.

“They fed off that tag and people took them lightly, but that’s not something we’ll be doing.

“Their coaches Richard Dawson and Ian Harvey have good work ethics and they’ll be doing everything they can to get up and running with a win.”

The Glamorgan coach reiterated his confidence – despite a slow start – that Glamorgan could turn around their fortunes this season

He added: “I have got belief in these boys. They’re doing things right, they’re practising hard and we hope with that type of work ethic and attention to detail, things come round for us."
