Glamorgan v Surrey: Head-to-Head

Glamorgan meet Surrey in their next contest in the Royal London One-Day Cup, with the game at The SSE SWALEC scheduled to start at 11.00am on Sunday, April 30th

Glamorgan made a decent start to their campaign in the 2017 competition on Thursday at Bristol, beating Gloucestershire by 18 runs under the DLS Method.

Surrey were victorious the last time the two teams met in List A cricket at The SSE SWALEC in June 2012 with half-centuries from Steve Davies and Zander de Bruyn, plus a return of 4/27 by Murali Kartik guiding Surrey to a victory by 57 runs under the DLS Method.

The Welsh county gained some revenge when the two teams subsequently met at Guildford in 2014 as they defeated Surrey by three wickets. On that occasion, Will Bragg and Murray Goodwin each posted assertive half-centuries as the Welsh county mounted a successful run-chase, reaching their target of 307 with three wickets in hand.

Glamorgan’s last victory in a List A contest against Surrey on Welsh soil came under the Cardiff floodlights in July 2008 as Mark Wallace scored 85, and shared in a jaunty fifth wicket stand of 109 with the late Tom Maynard which wrested the initiative away from Surrey.

Jason Gillespie then dismissed both openers, before David Harrison claimed the important wicket of Mark Ramprakash. Spinners Robert Croft and Dean Cosker subsequently stifled the attempts of the visiting batsmen to re-ignite the run-chase as Glamorgan cruised to victory by 78 runs.
