Head Coach Robert Croft has made one addition to the Glamorgan squad ahead of tomorrow’s NatWest T20 Blast contest with Essex Eagles at The SSE SWALEC, with new signing David Miller set to make his debut for the Welsh county.

Arriving in Wales today, Miller has signed on a six-game stint for Glamorgan after previous spells in the competition with Yorkshire and Durham, before he jets out to join St Lucia Stars in the CPL.

Despite last night’s rain off against Sussex Sharks in Cardiff, after a good start to the competition powered by the heroics of Colin Ingram, Glamorgan sit in a qualifying spot for the quarter-finals approaching the half way stage and victory tomorrow would secure the double over Essex this campaign.

“From playing with David back in South Africa, he’s very similar to Colin,” commented Jacques Rudolph, Glamorgan T20 captain.

Glamorgan are without both Kiran Carlson and David Lloyd who are currently injured, so Nick Selman along with young Welsh players Owen Morgan and Connor Brown are retained.

“Unfortunately two of our young Welsh batters are injured currently so there’s not much we can do about that,” added Rudolph, “but as a captain it’s a delight to have someone of David Miller’s calibre coming in and he will add balance to our team.

“He has done exceptionally well in the IPL and playing internationally for South Africa, so it is great for us to improve our batting options.”

Glamorgan (14-man) squad: Jacques Rudolph (c), Aneurin Donald, Nick Selman, Colin Ingram, David Miller, Chris Cooke (wk), Graham Wagg, Craig Meschede, Andrew Salter, Marchant de Lange, Timm van der Gugten, Michael Hogan, Owen Morgan, Connor Brown

Essex include Tom Westley who has recently been added to the England Test Match squad, but are unchanged from the side that defeated Hampshire last time out.

Essex (14-man) squad: Ryan ten Doeschate (c), James Foster (wk), Mohammad Amir, Ravi Bopara, Varun Chopra, Matt Dixon, Simon Harmer, Dan Lawrence,  Jamie Porter, Callum Taylor, Paul Walter, Tom Westley, Adam Wheater, Ashar Zaidi
