Today’s NatWest T20 Blast match between Glamorgan and Essex Eagles at The SSE SWALEC has been abandoned because of rain.
Heavy rain fell throughout Sunday morning - over an inch of rainfall in the last 24 hours - which led to the start of today's contest, scheduled for 2.30pm, being delayed.
However, with rain still in the air at 3.15pm and no sign of any improvement, the umpires abandoned the contest.
This decision was taken by the umpires due to the sheer volume of rain that had fallen over the last three days and the amount of time required to prepare the playing area in order to get the game started.
