Hospitality and Catering Supervisor

Role: Contracted Full Time (40 hours per week)

Hours of work: Variable (hours as the business dictates, can include daytime, evening, weekends & bank holidays)
Salary: £18,000
Location: Glamorgan County Cricket Club, SSE SWALEC, Cardiff, CF11 9XR

Job Summary

As the Hospitality and Catering Supervisor, you will lead and manage the provision of our “warm Welsh welcome” and excellent customer service to our visitors, so that the reputation of the SSE SWALEC hospitality function is enhanced and maintained.

This is a hands on role and the post holder will be actively involved managing the day to day running of the front of house catering and hospitality operation. You must be passionate about the role, be a great communicator, show flair and encourage creative thinking within your team.

Main Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Supervising catering and waiting staff at functions, events and on match days;
  • Driving forward and improving overall catering and hospitality standards;
  • Strong operational skills within hospitality environment;
  • Interacting with customers and club members;
  • Housekeeping to ensure highest standards of presentation and cleanliness;
  • Setting up and breaking down events and functions; 

  • Training casual staff; 

  • Ensuring health and safety, fire, licensing and employment regulations are strictly observed;
  • Enhancing company image improving the brand reputation and profile;
  • Day-to-day troubleshooting and main point of contact;
  • Ensuring staff comply with uniform policy;
  • Be able to conduct team briefings for events.

  • An appreciation of customer expectations, commercial and brand demands; 

  • Stamina and the ability to work under pressure whilst multitasking;

  • Customer-facing experience at a 4 or 5 star venue; 

  • Experience in improving service delivery;
  • 
Drive and determination to improve standards and profitability;
