Andrew Salter nearly hit the headlines at T20 Finals Day at Edgbaston in 2017 as he struck a series of sixes in the closing over, before being caught on the boundary’s edge in the Welsh county’s semi-final contest against the Birmingham Bears. During the summer, he also played a series of forthright innings in red ball matches and will be seeking a maiden Championship hundred in 2018.
In 2013 Andrew claiming a wicket with his first ball in Championship cricket for Glamorgan at the St. Helen’s ground in Swansea during the match with Leicestershire, and the off-spinner subsequently impressed many good judges in the Yorkshire Bank40 final against the Notts Outlaws at Lord’s.
The youngster from Pembrokeshire made his Glamorgan 2nd XI debut in 2010 and he has also appeared for Wales Minor Counties and the Cardiff MCCU team, for whom he made his first-class debut in 2012 against Somerset at Taunton. After graduating from Cardiff Metropolitan University in 2014, Andrew has become a regular face in Glamorgan’s line-up for both white-ball and red-ball cricket, besides acting as a gritty nightwatchman in the longer format.
Random Fact: Andrew co-manages a motorcycle initiative called Baffle Culture, which aims at ‘Seizing the opportunity to bringing like-minded riders together’
