2016 was a breakthrough season for David Lloyd as the forceful batsman and medium-pace bowler completed his maiden first-class hundred against Cardiff MCCU, before adding Championship hundreds to his tally against Kent and Sussex.
David also enjoyed a successful summer in white-ball cricket during 2016, with the highlight being a remarkable 97* from just 49 balls against the Kent Spitfires at The SSE SWALEC as he came within three runs of posting the fastest-ever hundred for Glamorgan in Twenty20 cricket. However, he struggled with injury in 2017 and missed much of the second half of the season.
Born in St.Asaph and educated at Darland School and Shrewsbury School, David joined the Glamorgan staff in 2012 having previously made his debut for the county’s 2nd XI when only sixteen.
David has a handsome record in 2nd XI cricket for Glamorgan and in 2014 he made 243 against Warwickshire at Coventry – the second highest individual score in the history of the competition for the Welsh county.
