Glamorgan v Middlesex - T20 Blast Top Tips

17 Aug 2017 | Events
Glamorgan face Middlesex tonight (Friday 18th August), 7pm scheduled start at The SSE SWALEC in Cardiff and to help you enjoy your day, here\'s our top tips.

1Beware of the Welsh weather - Please be mindful of the weather and pack accordingly. Stay safe in the sun and bring a raincoat with you in case of wet conditions. The forecast for today's game is poor, but the venue does have excellent drainage. There is an extra 30 minutes in the schedule before overs are lost, so if the rain passes over there is a chance of starting later for a full game or a reduced overs contest. See the latest forecasts on the BBC website here.

2. Arrive Early - As with all events currently, there are bag searches in operation on entry to the ground, which can slow down the speed of queues. Familiarise yourself with the nearest toilets, concessions and bars to avoid queues. Families and juniors attending the match are encouraged to use gate 4 where you can easily access our range of junior activities. Seating is unallocated within the bowl, so you can choose your seating location. Gates open 5.30pm

3. Travel – There is no public car parking in the vicinity of the ground so we would strongly advise arranging alternative transport. There are several NCP car parks a short walk away in the city centre should you wish to travel by car and we're a short walk from the city centre, although beware the Sophia Gardens gates through the park close around 9pm so there's no access after the match.

4. Warm Welsh Welcome - We're investing in our facilities to improve your match day experience and now offer FREE WiFi in-bowl for all customers. Connect to the Cloud to access WiFi. Can't find out what you need online, then our stewards and volunteers will be happy to help you on the day. If you have any queries, big or small, please speak to a steward who will be happy to help you. If you would like to report an issue simply text details beginning with GCCC ASSIST to 66777

5. Don't Miss the Fanzone Take a walk around the ground and make sure you visit the SPTS Fanzone in the National Cricket Centre where we host our match day entertainment.

6. Contactless - We are delighted to announce that we will be able to facilitate chip & pin and contactless payment this year, so we won't have a cash machine on site. The nearest cash machine to the ground is at the Esso petrol station on Cathedral Road near the junction with Cowbridge Road East, about a 10 minute walk.

7. Don't forget your TICKETS! - Make sure you have your tickets with you and keep them safe, no duplicates will be issued.

8. Stay within your boundaries - If you are feeling peckish there are plenty of catering options and bars around the ground. Please stay off the pitch and don't bring alcohol into the venue, for a full list of what you can and can't bring here are our Stadium Ground Regulations.

9. Glamorgan Going Green - 84% of our match day waste is now being recycled. Help us grow that number by getting your Green Goblet when you order your drink to do your bit to help Glamorgan stay green. There's a £1 deposit, but you get this back when you return your cup or you can keep it as a souvenir.

10. Can I buy tickets on the day? - Tickets for all T20 fixtures are available online, with a saving for adults and students for advance purchase. On The Day prices: £19 adults, £15 students, £5 under 17s. Advance prices: £16 adults, £10 students.
