Captain Michael Hogan was thrilled with his side\'s performance against Gloucestershire at Bristol, which saw Glamorgan complete their first opening match victory since 2014.

Despite a spirited fightback from the home side on day four, Glamorgan were eventually able to secure victory, in the gathering gloom when Aneurin Donald hooked the ball for six.

"It was a longer day than was ideal, but the boys got the job done," said Michael Hogan

"We thought we had Bracey caught by Shaun Marsh, but the umpires decided otherwise and that's all I can say about it.

"We haven't set any specific targets for this season. Our number one goal is to get better and the signs in pre-season, even before this game were really encouraging.

"I am excited about what I see in our young players. There is a lot of talent there and if we can put that together over an extended period we will be a very good side."
