Reaction: \"we should have got a few more\"

All-rounder Craig Meschede felt Glamorgan should have scored more runs on day one after being bowled out for 203 against Warwickshire at Colwyn Bay.

Meschede, who has a good record at Colwyn Bay, struck 53 not out and put on 31 with Michael Hogan for the 10th wicket as he helped the Welsh county secure a batting bonus point, despite bowler friendly conditions.

"It was seaming around a bit and swinging so I was happy with my performance. But we should have got a few more and we gave away too many with the ball.

"I've just realised it's been two years in a row I've scored a half-century here (87 v Sussex in 2017), it's just one of the grounds I enjoy batting at and it's got a lovely atmosphere.

In reply, Warwickshire reached 116/3 at the close with Ian Bell not out on 43. The former England batsman was however given a lifeline when he was dropped on thirty off the bowling of Andrew Salter.

"(Dropped chances) happen in cricket, we've got to make sure we're consistent in our bowling areas, there's enough in the wicket and there's swing around so hopefully we can build the pressure."
