60 seconds with... Joe Cooke

12 Mar 2020 | Cricket

Part of the 2nd XI T20 title winning side in 2019, Joe Cooke reveals how he got started in cricket and which Glamorgan player he'd most like to dismiss in a game.

Who inspired you to play cricket?

Probably my dad, back at my home club, Kings Langley, taking me to train when I was about 10 years old.

What's your favourite ground?

Kings Langley where I was brought up, the common, but now it’s got to be Sophia Gardens.

Who is your cricket hero?

Andrew Flintoff, from watching the 2005 Ashes series.

What's your favourite TV show?

Friends - I can quote most of the episodes!

What's your favourite sport other than cricket?

Football - I'm a Coventry City fan, currently top of the league, very excited about that!

What's your favourite food?

Pizza, especially after a long day in the field.

Who's your messiest teammate?

Tom Cullen - roomed with him last year, stuff everywhere.

If you weren’t a cricketer, what would you be?

Probably unemployed, to be honest.

If you could get any Glamorgan player out, who would it be?

Maybe Dan Douthwaite and I’d give him a bit of a send off. He’s got me out before in a uni game so I can get my own back.
