Museum of Welsh Cricket - first two talks in the winter series confirmed

The first in the series of popular winter talks in the CC4 Museum of Welsh Cricket have been confirmed for the Autumn of 2019:

October 17th – The  Boys of 1969

Andrew Hignell with help from Roger Davis and Kevin Lyons looks back fifty years to the Daffodil golden summer of 1969 with Glamorgan’s second Championship title, and the start of Sunday League. The evening will also include footage from 1969 and filmed interviews with other members of the Championship-winning squad.

November 7th – D-Day Remembered

A poignant evening, in conjunction with the British Legion, looking back at the contributions made by Glamorgan players to the planning and build-up for events on June 6th, 1944 as well as subsequent events in Northern France following D-Day, including the death of Glamorgan captain Maurice Turnbull.

The Quiz and Curry Night will take place on December 10th whilst in the New Year there will be other talks involving club captain Chris Cooke as well as umpire and ex-Glamorgan all-rounder Alex Wharf. The Quiz Night will be £10 per person (including curry and a complimentary drink). Each of the other talks will be £3 in advance for current Glamorgan members or £4 on the door on the night. For non-members, it’s £4 in advance or £5 on the door (Price includes complimentary tea and coffee).
