Head Coach Robert Croft has called Will Bragg back into the squad for Glamorgan\'s opening Royal London One-Day Cup game at home to holders Gloucestershire tomorrow at The SSE SWALEC (2pm).
Bragg struck 161 not out against Essex in the last round of the Specsavers County Championship and was the form batsman in Glamorgan's line-up, before the switch to the current block of limited overs cricket. It was his second first-class century of the year to go along with three half centuries as he passed 5,000 first-class career runs in the match against Essex.
Although he's sat out the last three T20 fixtures, Aneurin Donald has come to the fore striking two half centuries in three days at The SSE SWALEC, whilst Colin Ingram has also made a welcome return to the team after missing the first six rounds of the Specsavers County Championship.
After two wins in three limited overs games to sit top of the NatWest T20 Blast south pool, Glamorgan seam bowler Michael Hogan thinks the Welsh county can take their improving form into the new competition and he hopes a return to Lord's could be on the cards after two disappointing campaigns since Glamorgan finished runners-up at the Home of Cricket a couple of seasons back.
"It will be good to start the tournament afresh and hopefully get on a roll to get back to where we were in 2013," said Hogan who is set to play his 50th List A fixture. "There's plenty of water to go under the bridge before then, but the boys are showing some good signs."
"We had a good game against Essex in the Championship, at Surrey too and we've had a good game against Hampshire here so in terms of our build up the team is looking up - we just need to get a bit more consistency then we'll be where we want to be."
Glamorgan's closest geographical rivals were the surprise package of last year's competition, upsetting favourites Surrey at Lord's to lift the title last September, but the reigning champions were stunned at Taunton earlier today in a one-wicket defeat as the Somerset tailenders lashed 65 for the final wicket from just 49 balls with three balls to spare.
After losing a 5 over slog in the T20 tournament to Gloucestershire last year along with snatching defeat from the jaws of victory in the Championship clash back in May, Glamorgan needn't be short of extra motivation for payback.
"We'd don't necessarily keep any demons inside, but we'd like to put in a good performance against them," added Hogan.
