Former Nottinghamshire seam bowler Andy Carter who joined Glamorgan on loan in 2015 has come out of retirement to sign for Northants.
The 28-year-old quit the game at the end of last season, having taken 170 wickets across all formats - including 12 for Glamorgan in three matches.
He played for Northants' second XI last week against Glamorgan and was included in the squad for the Division Two match against Worcestershire
